Wings On The Windscreen Of Love
A poem by Ronnie Peace
Driving the Highway near dusk
Two butterflies
in the distance
making love.
Flapping their wings
for love,
forever.
The headlights
approachin'.
Their silhouettes
a-mountin'.
A climax!
Shriek.
Shriek.
Splat!
50 shades of larvae upon the windscreen.
Like that sweet loving feeling,
grieving
for sexual healing.
As they lay entwined
compressed
upon the windscreen,
upon the windscreen,
at least
until the next clean.
